Advertisment on the right hand side when i logged onto my hotmail account for messages.

Horror Image

I planned and imagined a different shot, which would of been completely different to this one as i had other ideas on horror shots. As i tried quite a lot of photos and ideas out i came to like this one.

I found shooting the shot quite simple, getting the right shot from different angles was the hardest part, but i decided from the front was more effective as you can see the persons hand with the blood on the knife, with the persons leg aswell, which just shows simply that it is a person with a knife. Editing the image i found quite difficult aswell as i'm not very good with editing at the moment, but i got their in the end and made the image black and quite, with the blood a brighter red to make it stand out, aswell as making the knife stand out.

The person is in all black which makes the photo more effective as this is a convention of a horror movie image. The fact that the knife has blood on is also a convention of a horror image, and the fact that its outside, late at night is also a convention of a horror image.

The lighting used is a key light which is the one used when someone gets a picture taken professionally

This is because we can see shadows in the background, this shows that the only light is in front of them

The costumes of everyone are quite old fashioned

The dad: grey suit black tie and looks smart

The son:  dressed like any other kid in casual clothes

The mum: centre of attention because she stands out with her cream dress

The Nan: Purple top ,typical old fashioned outfit for a nan

They’ve all got typical hairstyles for their age as well as natural make up.

Some of the family look uncomfortable this is shown through their body language , facial expressions and their language

The mum is shown as the centre of attention.

This scene showcases typical Britishness, this is shown by the accents and the black cab in the beginning 

The colour of the old woman’s dress reflects the key light being shined on her which makes her the main focus of this scene

The old woman in purple is also easily the most positive in this scene with her body language being very open whereas the males behind are frowning and slumping their bodies

The old woman in white seems hesitated and in hurry.

All of them are wearing different type of clothes with different colours which shows their diversity

They’re all stereotypical of their age group and gender in the way they dress and act.

There is a key light shining directly on him and a filler light shining to the right of him. The shadows behind him show this.

Because of his skin tone he blends in with colour of the background the filler light neutralizes this effect to an extent

He’s wearing a typical costume that a boxer would wear with boxing gloves and a boxing belt with shorts. He’s shown as a boxer due to his muscular physique and costume.

His body is glistening to resemble the pressure he would feel in the ring.

His aggressive and ready-for-battle body language resembles what he would be doing in the ring.

When he puts his hands on his hips he shows his attitude and means business

His facial expressions resemble a lion roaring, who’s powerful and always ready for battle

His persona doesn’t give off a very British aura

His lack of hair gives off the impression of the a thug. This is a stereotype that he’s living up to

There is a key light because it’s the most influencial .

There’s a filler light from the left as there is a darker shadow on the right side.

Her outfit includes a hat and a blue long nurses uniform and a white belt which gives the obvious impression of a nurse.

There is not much to say about the womans hair, as it is mainly covered by a hat, it is tied up and put in the hat.

Her make up is natural.

Her body language shows that she has a lack of confidence because  she is using the chair as protection.

She is standing up right to show she is proffesional.

Har facial expression is also very serious which reflects the job she does.

When she smiles it seems put on and fake.

Followed by a nervous laugh.

The photographer has an English accent.

The back light resembles the sun.

The colour of their costumes are white which blends in with the background, this makes them seem like they are in heaven.

And the fact that the mother is wearing a white dress and the baby has no clothes on shows represents that everything is pure and that the baby is a new born.

The mothers hair is natural which also acts to the purity of the setting.

The baby has a basic hair style which also represents it’s a new born.

The mother is also wearing soft natural make-up.

The mother is showing effection by her body language towards her baby by holding it in her arms, she also looks very protective with her baby due to her crossed arms.

The mothers facical expression is obviously happy due to her baby just being born.

The baby looks content due to not knowing what it is doing and why it is there.

The photographer and the mother both sound british.

The mother is being a typical sterotype mother due to holding her baby.

The baby is being a stererotypical baby by acting like a youngster.

There is just one main light which is directed on the center at the dog as it is the main protagonist.

The lady is wearing the same colour to which the table cloth is.

She also has dogs on the jumper which shows her passion for dogs.

Red is used to show her passion towards her dog.

She brushes her dogs hair to make it look nice for the photo.

The ends of her hair is similar to the dogs hair to show that that’s something they have in common.

The dogs body language is shown by its confused look, and it looks rather upset.

The womens body language shows that she wants the dog to look good in the photo by her busy body.

Her body language also shows that she wants to be in the photo herself.

The lighting used is a key light and there is a filler light coming from the left which creates a shadow on the right.

The owner of the cat is dressed in a smart black outfit which is good against the colour of the cats fur.

The pet seems well groomed as its fur it silky smooth, the lady’s hair also seems well looked after and smart.

The owners make up is natural, she has near to none on.

The cat seems curious as it looks around wondering what is happening, the lady’s body language is a bit uncomfortable as she has one arm around the chair that the cat is sitting in, the other hand is stroking the cats fur to keep her pet content.

We can see the lady has much love for her cat as she looks down at the cat and smiles.

All the people involved are English , when the owner speaks she seems on edge as she repeats the word yes over and over again.

This lady has a typical stereotype as a mad lady with a cat she adores, we also believe is is mad as not many people have a photo shoot for their cat.

He is dressed in a smart suit with slick hair to show he is serious about having the photograph.

His suit is also a similar colour to the background.

His make-up is pretty natural which shows he is natural.

His body language seems enclosed and uncomfortable with his arms crossed.

His voice comes across sharp and serious.

His smile also comes across as serious which shows he is a serious man.

The only bit of britishness shown is by the photographer with his accent.

The man says something about his aunt being in India which shows he is not british.

The colour of his skin and his accent also shows he is not english.

He falls into a stereotype of a typical shy man whos uncomfortable having his photo taken.

The lighting used is a key light and a filler light so that there is no shadow.

This is to show he is the main protagonist and the camera is all on him.

He is dressed with bow tie and suit, he is also wearing a faz to show he is unusual.

He has a moustache which is in an abnormal shape which again shows he is unusual.

It looks like he has grey hair underneath his faz which shows he is past middle age.

His make-up looks pretty natural, which shows his natural side and shows he isn’t all unusual.

His body language shows he’s not extremly comfortable, espically when he says ‘no I don’t want flash’ with his hand up and infront of him.

Britishness is shown through his accent.

He is shown as a another typical guy showing he doesn’t really want his photo taken but he has to.

The lighting used is a key light, with a filler light coming from the right, to which most of the light is on her to show she is the centre of attetion.

She is dressed in a small seductive revealling outfit that shows off quite a bit of flesh

As the outfit she is wearing is black, it shows how mysterious and sexy she wants to be.

Her hair looks wild as if she has had a ‘wild’ night out, although it does look pretty natural.

She is wearing red lipstick to show off her sexuality which also draws your eyes to her lips as it stands out more due to the dark background and dark clothing.

The rest of her make-up looks pretty natural.

Her body language is very open which shows her personality.

Shes attempting to look ‘sexy’ to which she is failing.

Her pose is seen as a ‘sexy pose’, although she looks extremly uncomfortable with a nervous laugh.

By her use of language, it shows she is uncomfortable as she says “this is silly..”

She pouts at the camera which again shows she’s inviting, also it’s like she’s inviting the audience.

The woman laughs nervously, which changes her body language from being open to closed, which shows that she is insecure.

This scene is very British as the people are all English however in the backgrond there is a greek pillar which shows she may be trying to act as a greek goddes which may be why she is so insecure.

She falls into the stereotype of a middle aged woman trying to be something  she is not.

The lighting used is a key light, with a filler light to stop the shadows in the background.

The ladies are wearing old-style clothing, to which some are revealing flesh, this shows how desperate they are.

The lady in the blue stands out a bit more than the other ladies due to her blue costume, where as the other ladies are wearing black.

Two of the ladies are ginger, and the other one is fake blonde, this shows their separate personalities.

Their make-up looks a bit fake, with red lip-stick which shows they are posing for a photo.

The way two of the ladies are standing up with both their mouths open shows that they are being a bit cheeky, as well as the one with the blue on is sticking her bum out and the other own is showing a bit of her breasts also shows how desperate they are too look nice and young.

The other women sitting down shows that she is a bit more relaxed with the way she is sitting, and with her legs crossed shows she is in a more comfortable position.

The women sitting down is smiling at the camera which also shows she is quite comfortable.

Where as the other two women have their mouths open which either shows they are aiming to be cheeky / naughty, and they are either really comfortable or a bit nervous.

The stereotypes of these ladies show that they are trying to act younger than what they are, and are trying to be something they are not.

This show us how desperate they are to wanting to be young and wild again.

The lighting used it key lighting which show that the 3 young girls are and will be centre of attetion.

The young girls are all dressed in blue ballerina outfits which shows they are very feminine and how young they are.

This also shows that they are all sisters.

The mother is also dressed in blue which shows her realtionship towards her daughters, her dress is also quite old fashioned which shows she is a mum.

The make-up lady is dressed in her outfit that she is most likely to be in when doing a shoot, just the normal t-shirt and shorts.

The girls hair and make-up are all the same, this also represents that they are sisters.

The girls body language show that they are sister again, with the same leg in front and holding each other.

This also represents their relationship and how close they are.

Their body language also represents that they are ballerinas with the way they are posing.

The mothers and the make-up ladies body language are natural as they are just helping the girls get ready for the photo shoot.

The girls facial expressions look a bit confused and fed up, you can tell that they just want to get one with the shoot that they are supposed to be doing.

Britishness is shown with the mother and make-up ladies accent, and the girls typical ballerina costumes.

The stereotype shown here is 3 young sisters doing ballet, cause at a young age, it is a stereotype for young girls to do a type of dancing, nearly every girl did some type of dancing at a very young age.

The lighting here is a key light and a filler light to show no shadows.

The young boy is wearing a little smart suit which shows he is going to have a photo shoot done for a special occasion due to his smartly dressed clothes.

The boys hair is blonde which shows his cuteness in the shoot, his hair is also smartly slick back into a nice smart style.

The boys make-up looks natural.

The boys body language looks natural and comfortable as he is shown picking his nose which shows he is in a comfortable situation as he would do that anyway where ever he is.

His facial expression looks pretty natural as well as if he doesn’t know what's going on but he doesn’t really care, this shows just how young he is.

The young boys britishness is shown by his smart clothing and blonde hair.

The boys waist coast is a similar colour to the chair he is sitting on, his parents have probably chosen these colours to show there passion and love for their son.

The boy is shown as a typical young boy stereo type as he is shown picking his nose, and not giving a damn with whats going on.

The key light is used coming from the front to show that the 4 men in the middle are the main protagonists.

All 4 of the men are wearing suits to show how smart they are and to show their age.

They look like they are having a photo done for a special occasion, for a wedding or funeral or something along those lines.

All 4 of the men’s hair are slick and smart, their hair also represents their age, as they are kind of grey, or turning grey, or are bald.

The men’s make-up look natural.

All 4 of the men look pretty comfortable, not too comfortable though and show that they are ready for the photo shoot.

With their hands behind their back or in their pockets also how that they are gentlemen and know what they are doing.

Their facial expressions either look serious, or they are smiling.

This show the situation they are in and what the photo is most likely to be for.

All 4 of them look British with their smart suit and all of them wearing the same outfit.

Their typical stereotypes are middle aged men looking their age (if not attempting to look younger) attempting to take a nice photo of them.
