Second Day Filming

For our second day filming, it was me and Ella again and we decided to go back to my house and re-film some extra shots, and also add in a few extra shots. We decided on Alex's idea of putting the camera in the fridge when Liza opens the fridge door which showed her facial expression a bit more clearer than an over the shoulder shot.
We also decided on moving the controls off the puffet and onto the wooden cabnet underneath the TV as we couldn't get the puffet and TV in a shot together due to the living room being too small.
We also decided on changing the ending as we felt we wouldn't have enough time for the first ending we thought of, so we decided on the lights turning off, and filming from over the shoulder of Liza texting her friend. We got my younger sister who is studying Media for GCSE to help us with the door opening and dragging feet along the floor, while Ella directed and turned off the lights and i filmed the over the shoulder shot. When we played this back, we realised that we couldn't really hear the footsteps dragging and the door handle opening so we are possibly going to have edit these in.
Overall the second day of filming went really well. Again we were restricted on time, but we managed to get done what we wanted to.

First Day Filming

First day filming went very well. Myself and Ella were the only ones who could make the filming as well as our actress, Liza. We managed to get most of the last scene completed. We added in a few extra scenes while filming as we thought it would flow better, for example we added in an extra scene with the hall way when Liza comes in from the front door into the living room. We filmed this from 3 different shots to get the correct shot and see which one showed more of Liza's body language and the scene.
The next shot we filmed was in the front room to which we filmed at various angels. This took around 10 takes to get the correct shot and to also add in a few different angles. Throughout this shot, myself and Ella took it in turns with the camera for filming, while I was filming Ella was directing and while Ella was filming I was directing, to which we worked very well together.
We then went into the kitchen and filmed a few shots in there. Me and Ella took it in turns again to film and direct. This took quite a few takes as again we decided on filming from different angles, we did this because we thought it would work better with different shots such as close-ups, over the shoulder, point of view, etc. and it would help us gain higher marks.
The next shot we did was when Liza walked from the kitchen into the living room, it took us about 3 takes for this as certain angles didn't look right, but after we finished filming this shot we decided not to add it in due to not getting the correct angle. We decided to go back into the living room and film from the far corner so that it showed when Liza walked from the kitchen into the front room to which this worked a lot better. This took about 4 takes from the same angle but further back to which we used a wide shot showing the scene and Liza's body language.
We then went outside and filmed from when Liza was unlocking the front door and going into her house. This took 4 shots but the night vision didn't work as well as wanted it to, so we decided on doing it another day and we also need to figure out a few alternatives to what we can do about the lighting outside.
Overall first day filming worked very well, it was a bit stressful at first as it was our first time filming since a year ago, but once we got used to the camera and the camera shots, we soon got into it and completed several shots, it was a shame that we ran out of time but we did as much as we could.
